Derek's Recollections:The voice of Skit Row was a guy named John Tarzwell, who has an amazing voice and an incredible writing style. John was the voice of Sound Venture Productions, basically, which was the company that won all of these awards.
Rick Jones was the character voice and John Tarzwell was the voice of Doom. That was a sketch that John wrote. John didn’t write a whole bunch of stuff. But that was one we did that he had put together.
That stuff is shot on three-quarter inches. It’s absolutely abysmal. I can’t even stand to watch it. But we were learning the craft of how you put comedy shows together. And eventually, we ended up getting on stage and being very successful as sketch and improv comics.
